I’ve always had a lot of friends. Or so I thought. I’ve always had a lot of friends. Or so I thought. ⁣
⁣
Fun fact, I moved around a lot as a kid. I was born in Iowa, moved after maybe a year to Missouri. Then Indiana. Then Ohio. Then Illinois. Then Texas right before junior high.⁣
⁣
I think it shaped me into who I am today. In a good way. I can become friends with a wall. Always having to start over relationships helps me in my career in sales a ton. I’m not scared or intimidated by any conversation. It’s made me confident and ambitious.⁣
⁣
In junior high and high school, even college, I wanted to be friends with everyone. Every friend group. Every party. Older than me, younger than me. If you wanted to be my ‘friend’ I added another tally to the list. Unfortunately, I think that led me to what Isaac calls a lot of ‘acquaintances’. Not true friends. ⁣
⁣
Even as an adult, I wanted to be included in every group of people around town. A lot of surface level relationships. Some that turned out to be snakes in the grass and not friends at all. But hey, as long as I was invited I didn’t care. ⁣
⁣
Do not get me wrong. I have a lot of amazing people in my life. And a couple of friends that I’ve been friends with for decades. I cherish those relationships a lot. I just never had one best friend. Or best friend group. I watched everyone else have their ‘person’ and deep down always felt like the third wheel in friend groups. Always wondering what I was doing wrong or why I wasn’t good enough to deserve a ‘best’ friend. ⁣
⁣
After all of these years I honestly gave up hope that I would find a group of women that were kind, helpful, gracious and giving but also raw, truthful, honest and authentic. Boy did God have other plans. ⁣
⁣
Our group of friends originated at church. Where most of us were going through struggles of different avenues. How beautiful the start of a group of friends was out of brokenness? How blessed to have a place that allowed it to happen? How lucky are we that God did this? Not us. But Him. ⁣
⁣
They’ve helped me through DARK moments. Bad days. Taken me to the ER. Sat by my hospital bed. Corrected my mind when I thought I was a bad mom, bad

10 years of marriage 🫶🏻✨🤍⁣ ⁣ Isaac and I have been 10 years of marriage 🫶🏻✨🤍⁣
⁣
Isaac and I have been together since we were 19/20 years old. Married in 2016. Yall 10 years is a long time! You change A LOT from 19/20 to 35 years old. Going through that many chapters of life and growth together. ⁣
⁣
It has not been easy. Through infertility, my alcoholism, having kids, both being full time working parents, health issues, petty arguments, and a laundry list more. Including arguments about laundry. ⁣
⁣
But we made a commitment. To ourselves, our families, our future selves, and to God. A commitment to fight for our marriage through difficult times. Counseling is a tool, not a sign of giving up FYI. And we learned a lot about ourselves, each other, our childhoods, etc. through marriage counseling. ⁣
⁣
Isaac. Thank you for being the best dad. Watching you with Cooper and Collins truly is one of my biggest joys. Thank you for working hard to support us and thriving in your career (congrats on the promotion by the way 😉). Thank you for not giving up on me when I was in the darkest place of my life and didn’t want to be here anymore. Thank you for sitting in ER’s, witnessing 2 traumatic c-sections, attending doctor’s appointments, waiting by my hospital beds for days. And you’re pretty attractive which is a great bonus (especially coaching on the baseball field). Thank you for being you, authentically, 100% of the time. ⁣
